Default New Account Password Change

Tried to change your password for the game recent?

Now the game will no longer let me change the password within the game it only gives me a link and says i have to change it at plaync.com.....this account is NOT a plaync account....BUT...i figured something out...if you have an account that has bought slots from the in-game store...it will make you change your password at plaync.com.......if you have an account that has not bought from the in-game store then it will let you change passwords as normal......

Question.........Why has this changed? I really do not like this......

When i tried the store option just to check it out it required me to log in with a Play NC account. so buying an extra slot seems a bit off for me
Don't need one thoguh

Legend, I can confirm until you use the store option you can change the password through the client. I also do not like this. I thought when I originally linked the accounts that the password would be basically a "once off" to ensure "security" when linking store and game accounts.

With all the security problems NCSoft is renowned for, I have avoided changing my password altogether, something which I don't particularly like either. But what can we do? NCSoft is too insecure, yet not changing passwords every couple of months is also insecure. It's pretty much a loose-loose situation for those who have done it.

As much as the extra character slots are heaven sent, I would honestly advise against linking PlayNC accounts to your game account.

I am pretty sure this did not happen until this week/last......

I could change my password the same as before....but tried to change my password because it was brought to my attention (last night)from another player who is having the same problem. I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD THROUGH PLAYNC.COM LINK....when my account is NOT a plaync account.......never has been.....and now i cannot remember the answer to my secert question/password/account name for the "buying slots" account

i contacted plaync.com support and got auto replys saying please send us your guild wars access keys......DO THEY KNOW HOW MANY KEYS THAT IS!??!

(i have every key possiable)

If i knew this would have happend i would never have bought a slot...and i thought about getting nigthfall through the store on another account....but thats a no way
